This Viking Age drinking vessel is based on a find under the city wall of Birka, the famous Viking settlement in Sweden. It comes with a wave pattern typical for the period. The vessel is wholly hand-made without a potter’s wheel, just as the original was made over 1000 years ago.
In order to make it more durable and easier to clean, it’s made from stoneware with a glazed inside. This allows it to be washed in a dish washer and it can also withstand a microwave oven.
